Vigga
"To Always strive and prosper".. is the mantra
that continues to drive the Jamaican Born
producer Octavius Muir, more popularly
known as "Vigga", of the Brooklyn-based
music outfit House A Stars Production.
Citing production greats such as Computer
Paul and Dave Kelly as vectors of inspiration,
it was an artist...Mad Cobra to be exact, that
would give Vigga his big break in 2006 with
production credits on Cobra's Sniper Album
Project.
Over the next decade, the humble
producer would quietly establish the
House a Stars imprint, and begin building
an impressive catalog of works with
industry stalwarts such as Beenie Man,
Mad Cobra, Macka Diamond, and Tanya
Stephens to name a few.
By 2012, Vigga had expanded the House a
Stars outfit to the US East Coast with Long
Island becoming his home ground, and
New York, the epicenter of his new
musical aspirations, and by 2014, the
ambitious producer was soon serving up a
slate of riddim-driven projects for Reggae
Giant VP Records.
Along the way, he found love, started a
family, and became a certified home
appliance technician, but continued to
patiently build his music production brand.
Fast forward to the here and
now...
With over a decade and a half of
experience under his belt, Vigga has
successfully led the House a Stars imprint
into the digital music landscape by
positioning its distribution outfit as a
platform for emerging artists by bringing
young acts such as Slashe, Dehjavue, and
Tracy Night to the foreground on premium
productions such as 2020's Yardii Riddim.
Despite the hiatuses of COVID, Vigga, and
the House a Stars team continued to
create, and by the end of summer 2021,
Vigga started hinting at tracks poised for
release.
The first of these new productions included the
track "Letter To A Fake Friend", by 2012 JA
Festival Song Winner, Abby Dallas.
This unique soundscape continues to catalyze
the "House a Stars" brand recognition as a
respected name in the homegrown and east
coast Reggae/Dancehall circuit.
